4 Things You Need To Quit Now
I want to talk to you today about 4 things that you can do that will change your life. I’m not talking about some magical fix, I’m talking about small changes that I made that dramatically improved my life. Things that are easily applicable if you try.
- Stop Trying to please everyone. You will live in a prison and live unfulfilled by trying to please the world. It is an impossible task that will bring you nothing but pain. If you try and better yourself, someone is not going to like that. You want to be more successful? Someone, somewhere is not going to like that. You want to chase your dreams? Not everyone is going to like that. You are not living your life to be liked, you are living your life for you. Stop trying to please everyone.
- Stop trying to be perfect. Perfection is a myth. It’s time for you to disarm the myth of perfection. I want you to be the best version of you but I don’t want you to be so scared of having perfect success that you don’t go for it. If you are afraid to fail then you are afraid to succeed. Pure and simple. The road to perfection is made of imperfection. That's how you grow, you use your failures and imperfections to become the best version of you.
- Quit settling for less. You should never have to lower your standards to meet people at their level, they should raise their standards to meet you at yours. You cannot allow people to convince us that you should settle for less. Friends, relationships, bosses, whoever it is, don’t allow it. Do not settle for less.
- Stop trying to control the things that are out of your control. Quit. So many people are so focused on the external- everything outside of you. What people say about you, rumors, reputation and things like that are not in your control. You can’t control what people think about you but you can control how it affects you. You can't control what the world throws at you but you can control how you react. You might not be able to make people like you, or make your instagram account have more followers but you can control the internal dialogue that you are having with yourself. When you change the internal, the external takes care of itself.
Quit doing these things and watch your life grow to another level. Watch your peace grow stronger. Watch your focus become better and your self-esteem grow. It’s rehab time.
It all starts with you.
