Confidence is everything. Here are a few ways that you can build your own confidence. I like to start my day with an Accomplishment. A lot of you might think that when I say this, I mean some large scale achievement being conquered in grand fashion. No, accomplishment can mean being scared of something and doing it anyways. Accomplishment can be trying something new and not finishing it or being the best at it. Accomplishment is finding something that stretches you and giving it your best effort. I like to start my day off with a work out, this helps me to push myself from the moment my head lifts off of the pillow. When I start to hit that wall in the workout and my brain starts telling me to quit, I remember that I can, and have, pushed myself past that point many times. When I break through that mental barrier, I prove once again to myself that I have what it takes to face any challenge of the day. Accomplishment builds confidence. One win a day keeps low self-esteem away. When you feel low self-esteem in your life, it’s because you aren’t setting yourself up for success. This can be as simple as doing the dishes and checking that activity off of your list for the day. That’s a win.
The next thing I want to talk to you about is Consistency. Success is not always dependent on world class talent but it does depend on world class consistency. Repetition is fear’s worst nightmare. Think about something that you are good at now, it’s because you allowed yourself to be a fool at it first until you put in the work consistently and now it’s like your second nature. Keep showing up, regardless of everything else.
Another vital part of building your confidence is how much effort you put into your self care. I know this might sound trivial but it works. I promise. I’m making sure that when I start my day I am starting it for me and no one else. I wake up and get my head and body in the proper shape before tending to the other responsibilities in my life. Confidence starts from how you feel inside. Think about progress, progress is an ugly road to a beautiful place. Fall in love with it. Fall in love with this process of progression and understand that you are growing through your life. Visualize your life and set yourself up for greatness. This is what confidence is all about.
You know that there will be energy drainers that come up, there’s no secret recipe to prevent fear. No recipe to prevent haters or pain, but confidence gives you the tools to rest assured that you will make it through it and that it is all a part of your journey to your best self.
It all starts with you.
