Consistency is Key
The reason you follow this blog is consistency. It's not because I know everything. It's not because I am smarter than you or that I have all of the answers or that I'm never wrong. None of that is true. What is true is that I am consistent. You can count on a continual stream of inspirational food for thought coming from my social media or my website all of the time. I have learned how to be consistent and that has helped me tremendously throughout my life and throughout my career.
Too many of us live our lives with complete inconsistency day in and day out. I'm sure that if you haven't experienced this in your own life then you probably know someone who has. The people who one day are this person and one day are that person. One week they are all focused on being hard, being better, and bettering themselves, and the very next couple of weeks they are back to being lazy and they don't care anymore. They are always one step forward and three steps back. The problem is you cannot find success with that life model. You have got to be consistent in moving forward.
Not everyday has to be monumental. Not everyday has to be a revolution. I know we all have bad days every once in a while. I know that, but it's not about having a perfect everyday life. It's about trying to make at least some progress everyday. Yes, that includes tiny steps, and that is all it will be on some days. Some days you will only do a little bit to be better or to step towards success. Some days you will just barely get by because you will feel beaten down by the world and exhausted by everything going on around you. Even on those days it is important to be consistent and try to make progress towards your goals. You are not going to want to work everyday, but it is still important that you do.
Don't be a person with an on and off switch for your passions. I have people come talk to me and say Trent I want to be a speaker, but then I go to their page and there ain't nothing on their page about being a speaker. People talk about wanting to help people, but when they get the chance in their own life they pass it up. Or maybe they do not even have the time in their lives to help themselves. They talk about wanting to start a business and be professional but all they have on their page is foolishness. Let me tell you something, if you want to be passionate about something then sign up to be passionate about it everyday. Not just when it is convenient. Push yourself to be consistent in your life everyday. Even if that just means little steps towards progress.
It all starts with you.
