One of my biggest fears is dying unfulfilled.
I can't bear the thought of not living the life I was created to live. I don't want to live for other people, and I don't want to live a life of fear. I don't want to live a life in which I allowed my circumstances to control my mindset. I don't want to live a life in which I don't consider each new day a gift and a new opportunity.
Too many of us waste our gifts.
The gift of life is severely undervalued. Every day, I see people allowing others to hurt them. I see people allowing others to make them feel certain ways about themselves. I see people accepting the lies others feed them, and I see those same people take in their failure as if it's their identity. They take in their shortcomings and instead of seeing that they're just a piece of the journey, they let their shortcomings destroy them.
Stop letting temporary setbacks kill your vision. Let me tell you something—you are great. You have the ability to become your best self, and guess what? That'a all you need. You don't need to believe the lies people push on you. You don't need to believe the pain, or the hate. Instead of taking in all the negativity for granted, have faith in what you have! Trust your vision, and the rest will follow. Trust me—you are capable of doing incredible things. There is more goodness and strength in your heart than you can imagine. Often, we're almost timid. We shy away from self-investment, and instead, we invest in the wrong things. We invest in poison. We invest in the wrong foods, we invest in the people who only bring us negativity, and we ultimately invest ourselves in things that don't move our lives forward.
Why are we so ready to invest in everything but ourselves?
To me, that seems completely backwards. It makes no sense at all! That being said, it's easy to see why people don't always invest in themselves sufficiently. The reason is simple—self-improvement is hard. Not everyone is ready to accept that truth, but although it might step on some toes, or take you out of your comfort zone, it's a truth you need to hear. Getting better will be the hardest thing you ever do, but you have to do it. There's no way around it—no one is going to give you a better life on a silver platter. At the end of the day, you have to step outside of your comfort zone. Otherwise, how will you ever expand your horizons?
It all starts with you.
