“What is done in the dark will be brought to the light.” Whenever you do not make preparing your priority then the moment will come and you will not be ready for it. When you decide to push off practice, or study, or working, or whatever it may be, there will be a day that it catches up to you, and your “pushing off” will be brought to the light. Life will always expose your preparation. Some of us have dreams that we can talk a big game about day after day, but we are just not willing to put in the effort it takes to achieve those dreams. I am just being straight up with you guys. You know me, I want to be real, but I am not saying this to bring anybody down or hurt any feelings. I am saying what I think is best for you to hear.
There are people out there like LeBron James, or Michael Jordan who are and were the best because they trained like nobody else. They pushed themselves past the point where everyone else called it too much. They treated greatness and their dreams like a math equation. If they train more than anybody else then they will score more than everybody else. Let me tell you something right now, every single game they played showed those results. The games for them always revealed their preparation.
A lot of people in this world right now, and probably a lot of your reading this have big dreams for your life. Big dreams of finally making it big in whatever way that plays out for you, but sadly most people in this world only dream. All they have is the dream because they never actually make that dream a reality. Here is a serious question I have for you guys. I really want you to think about this question and wrestle with it this week. If I was with you for twenty-four hours or a week, would I be able to see the hunger that you say you have to achieve your dreams playing out in your actions? What is it that you do that steps towards your dreams? How often do you set any goals to step towards them? How often do you follow through with those goals? Again, I am not by any means saying this to call you out or discourage you. I want you to achieve your dreams! Straight up, guys I want you to be successful. However, if you are not actively pursuing those dreams then I can promise you that nothing will be magically coming your way as a result. Like I said before, the game and life will always reveal your preparation. So start now. Start preparing to make your dreams a reality. Make some real goals that you can look at and reasonably follow through within a week. They don’t have to be anything crazy. Just set up some goals that you could actually accomplish this week. Get out there!
It all starts with you.
