There are going to be times in your life where things just aren't going right.
You're going to have moments where you feel helpless, and you say to yourself, "This isn't fair—I deserve better than this." An opportunity or person will walk out of your life, and you'll wonder what you did wrong. I say this time and time again, but none of us have the ability to control everything. Things are sometimes going to go the wrong way, and you're going to feel helpless.
No matter how helpless you feel, you can't learn helplessness.
You can't be helpless just because you sense adversity—you've got to keep on trying. You've got to keep pushing no matter what, and I know that's easier said than done, but it's your only option. You've got to instill that mindset into yourself, and you've got to tap into the realization that you can do all things. You've got to motivate yourself, and you've got to make yourself know that you're going to make the whole world respect your greatness.
Nothing can stop you without your permission.
Things can slow you down, or they can hold you back, but at the end of the day, nothing can stop you. Things will try to knock you down on the floor, but there's no trial on earth that can keep you from picking yourself up off the ground.
It's true—I might not have been through what you've been through, but I've been through a lot in my life. I know how it feels to lose everything, and I know how it feels to have the people I thought were closest turn their backs on me. I know how it feels to be criticized, and I know how it feels to fail.
But I also know something else.
I know how it feels to rise above. I know how it feels to turn that setback into a comeback. I know how it feels to fail and fail and fail again, then turn those failures into something incredible.
It's time for you to make up your mind. You've got to say to yourself, "Okay, so I'm at rock bottom, and my life has fallen apart. Now, I'm going to use the bottom of the ocean as a springboard, and I'm going to pick up all the broken pieces of my life and build something better."
Let your hardest times build your strongest faith.
When you find yourself at rock bottom, I want you to find God. I want you to find yourself, and I want you to understand what you're made of. You have a unique purpose on this earth, so stop wasting time! Let's get to it.
It all starts with you.
