Let’s talk about the grind. We all have dreams and aspirations, but how bad do you really want them? How far are you willing to go? There will be struggles. Accept that. Accept that there is no easy road to the top of the mountain, you are going to have to climb on your hands and knees. There will be times that you fall down and have to pick yourself up. There will be times when you are all alone and you lose sight of the top. Think about this- If all it takes is a little bit of struggle for you to turn your back on your goals, maybe you never wanted them that badly in the first place. Just want to be real with you. The people that achieve their dreams stay ten toes down no matter what.
So how bad do you want it? Are you all talk or all action? When setbacks come along, and they will, you have to be able to find meaning in the struggle. I want this season to be the best season of your life but the only way for that to be true is for you to dig deep. Dig deep and plant yourself in the present moment, good or bad, you know that this is a necessary step on your way up the mountain. When you look back on your story this will only be one sentence in your book, one page or one chapter. The struggle chapter, the perfect chapter or the imperfect chapter are all a part of the same book. Believe that. Have faith in that. Because when your story is finished, this is going to be the chapter that changed your life. This will be the chapter that took your dream to the next level or took your grind to a different playing field.
It’s time to stop talking down about yourself. It’s time to stop comparing your life to the lives of others. This is your life. Their success and their journey is none of your business. It has nothing to do with you and your journey so why let it affect your peace? Why think about someone else’s high just to make you feel low? It’s time for you to lock in and check yourself. If you don’t believe in yourself then no one else will.
Recognize that when you live up to your potential, it doesn’t just affect you it causes a ripple effect in the whole world. There are people who are relying on you to make it happen. Are you going to throw in the towel? Or are you going to use the towel to wipe the sweat from your brow and keep pushing forward? There’s no journey worth achieving that is gained by taking the easy road. It’s the imperfect path that takes you to your greatest destination.
It all starts with you.
