What is rehab time? I don't mean rehab in drugs and alcohol, although that may be how you apply it to you. The way I mean "rehab time" is the process of putting a strength back into a weakness. There are many areas in our lives that have the potential to be strengths, but they are currently a weakness. Only you know what area of your life needs that change. For some of you, that is your relationship with a significant other or a family member. Some of you may be struggling with your physical or mental health, or it could be something completely different and unique to you. Whatever it is, you have the power to change your experience, and until you stop settling for less in your everyday life, nothing will change.
There's a you inside of you that you haven't even met yet. Think about that. What if you met that version of yourself today? What would be different between them and you? Many of us accept where we are now for who we are supposed to be and live out that lie as a lesser version of ourselves. There's more inside of you than you think. I'm going to be honest with you - there are times in my life where I settle for less and when I believe that I don't need to continue the work in my heart and mind. It's part of our nature to adapt to our current circumstance and that can be a good thing but it's also a double edged sword. You may push and grow to get into a relationship with someone and then once you have it you get complacent. Maybe you worked hard for a job you wanted and now that you have it you stopped motivating yourself to look up and keep pushing. We all do this but you have what it takes to be uncommon.
Being motivated is not enough, it's a start but it won't take you where you want to be. I have two things that I want you to write down and practice. Check this out:
Number one- "Give yourself permission to be great."
Some of us grew up with our parents or friends or significant others telling us the lie that this doesn't apply to you but I'm here to tell you that it does. Yes, YOU. You have permission to be great, don't let anyone tell you otherwise. Stop believing that lie.
Number two- "Live every single day with intention."
This means that you are not waking up everyday and accepting what life offers you. Instead, you are deciding to give what you want to the world. No longer going through the motions, you now choose to tell yourself what the day is going to be and then make it happen. Let's get it.
It all starts with you.
