How Bad Do You Want It?
Everybody wants success.
What is success? That's up to you as an individual. We all have our own personal definitions of what success is, but one thing is for sure—everybody wants it.
Obviously, not everyone is successful. Everyone wants success, but whatever success is to them requires effort and sacrifice. I've personally made sacrifices throughout my career. I've had to say "no" to a lot of things I wanted to do, because the pursuit of success isn't a one-off deal—it's continuously putting your goals above anything else!
Let me ask you something: What do you want in life? What does success mean to you? Think about that question for a moment, and then answer this next one.
What is in the way of your success?
When you're able to get to a high level of commitment and discipline in regards to your goals, you will be able to achieve some incredible things. Sacrifice is hard! Discipline is difficult.
You will have to miss out on things you want to do now so that you can realize your dreams in the long run. You will have to ask yourself on a case-by-case basis whether certain activities will help you succeed, and you'll have to be ready to cut them out of your life if they don't. Not everyone can do that, and that's why success isn't universal! Not everyone has the discipline to succeed, and not everyone is ready to sacrifice their bad habits, their times wasted drinking on the weekends, or their free time.
Being successful requires a plan. You've got to make a plan, then stick with it!
Goals without a plan are pipe dreams. Plans without commitment and the willingness to sacrifice will fail. If you refuse to dedicate yourself, you will never conquer your struggles. If you stay complacent rather than moving forward, you'll miss out on what really matters! You will look back at your life when you're on your deathbed, and you'll say to yourself, "Man, I wish I was more mature." You'll realize how much you could have accomplished when you were celebrating nothing. You'll regret being stagnant!
Live a life you'll be proud of.
If you want to be successful, you will need to go the extra mile. Don't complain about your job all week only to waste your weekends! Don't live paycheck to paycheck, and don't let celebrating nothing be your only joy.
What are you obsessed with? What excites you? What is your vision?
There is nothing more beautiful than having a plan and following through with it. If you need to sacrifice your weekends to change your life for the better, then do it! How bad do you really want it?
It all starts with you.
