I've got a strong message for everyone today.
As I was running this morning, this thought appeared in my head that made me stop everything I was doing. I had to stop running for a second, because I got this thought that was so powerful, I believe it's more important than virtually anything else.
You've got to live right now.
Let me tell you something—a lot of us, even most of us, are used to living such a limited life. Now, that isn't because we're not capable or because we're not great. It isn't because God didn't bless us as much as we deserved to be blessed. We live a very limited life because we continue to settle for less.
We settle for less than we deserve in many different areas. We settle for less in regards to our fitness, our relationships, and even the world we live in. We choose to believe what people tell us, and we choose to trust the lies people feed us. If I asked you if you truly knew your worth, you might reply that you did. However, I'm willing to bet that the life you're living right now doesn't reflect that.
I'm sorry if I'm stepping on any toes, but you've got to stop settling, plain and simple. There are people in your life who treat you like a shadow of what you truly are. There are people who will project themselves onto you until you feel more like a mirror than a friend. Why do we put up on this?
Because we're scared.
We put up with less than we deserve day after day because we're afraid of people leaving us. We're afraid of leaving our comfort zones. We're afraid of missing out in some way, shape, or form; and ironically, that instinct is what makes us miss out the most.
Embracing who you are, I mean truly embracing yourself, is going to lose you some friends. It's going to make some people leave. Being yourself is easier said than done, but you deserve nothing less than the truth.
The first person who deserves your time is none other than yourself. You are worth so much more than you know, so it's time to stop settling for less. It's time to stop pouring your confidence into a cup every time someone disapproves of you. It's time to stop worrying so much about opinions from people who don't even truly care about you. It's time to be your own source of high self-esteem, even though that self-growth journey is a journey that never ends.
It's time to get what you deserve.
It all starts with you.
