What if this was your last month to live?
What if this was your last day?
For a moment, I want you to consider what you would do differently if you knew your days were numbered.
What would you leave behind?
What would you leave to the people around you?
Are you satisfied with the example you've left for your kids?
The simple fact is, some of us are living an incomplete life, and some of us will die incomplete as a result. Rest assured—this isn't a sales pitch. Life is rare, and I'm so passionate about spreading that message that I'm doing this for free. I truly believe that we cannot afford to keep going through the same motions, to keep doing nothing with our lives. We go through this life wanting to be motivated, expecting change, but we refuse change when we neglect to put in the work.
There will be no transformation without self-investment.
"If you are out of shape, run. There is no other way to get fit."
If you don't go out there and put in the work, you won't succeed! There are no shortcuts to your own satisfaction. Stop telling yourself every year that you'll change—just do it!
Life is a struggle, and if you live well, you will not stop fighting. Do you want a good life? Do you want to accomplish your dreams? Take responsibility. Every second you live an incomplete life increases your chances of dying incomplete, and the only antidote for that is hard work.
We find ourselves in bad situations all the time. We find ourselves engaging in bad habits or bad activities that we know are ruining our lives. We stay because of fear, doubt, and comfort.
Some of us have never felt the fullness of life because we choose to accept less. We doubt ourselves, asking "What if it doesn't work out? What if I'm not good enough?"
Let me tell you something.
Whatever it costs to be the best version of yourself is worth it.
Be your best self.
Be your best self for your kids, for your friends, and for the strangers you don't know you're inspiring.
Stop blaming others. "Oh, it's the NFL's fault. Oh, it's my parents' fault. Oh, it's everybody's fault." At the end of the day, your growth starts for you, and there is no shortcut.
Now go out there and fight for your life, because you're worth it.
It all starts with you.
