It's time for everyone reading this blog to stop believing the lies.
We are all human, and we all fall victim time and time again to lies. I'm not only talking about the lies of social media—I'm talking about the lies that you have allowed to be put into your life by the people who matter most to you.
Today's message is about re-prioritizing yourself, because you are the only one who gets to decide what you are worth.
Don't become other people's pain. Don't be their failure, or their depression. The world is going to shove insecurities into your face, but you can't give in to those insecurities—you've got to stay strong, and remember who you are.
Over time, criticism from others can make us feel less like ourselves. The harmful words from our closest friends might end up demotivating us, and we might end up in a depressed state as a result.
This world is full of people living a life that isn't theirs. What I mean by that is that they're living a life someone else gave them—they're living the pains and insecurities of the failed dream they were given.
It's time to separate your true self from the lies people have layered onto you. Your identity, from mental to emotional to physical health, is up to you to define. Self-awareness is huge, and if everyone practiced it, the world would be a much brighter place.
I see people who aren't self-aware every day, and it breaks my heart. There are people out there, including some of the people reading this, who hurt themselves by being unaware of themselves. They don't know how to deal with the emotions they have been given, and they aren't mindful of what they're putting in their bodies or minds.
You have to realize something. No one is going to take care of you, so don't look for anyone to save you besides God. Your friends aren't going to save you, your family isn't going to save you, and your only route to redemption is through yourself. Plenty of us stand around waiting for someone to come and save us, but neglect to do their part in the process.
The path to success begins with a fight for your own mental health. Remember, you have the power to change your life. You have the power to fix your problems, and that's a power that no one else on earth has.
What are you waiting for? Are you ready to claim the happiness you deserve?
Focus on your mental health, and the rest will follow.
It all starts with you.
