How to Respond to Haters
Stop stressing out about what you can't control.
I see it every day—people worrying about gossip, haters, and the opinions of others. Unfortunately, none of us have the ability to control whether people like us or not, and I'll be completely transparent: even now, as far as I've come, there are those who continue to spread hatred about me.
There will always be people behind closed doors and computer screens who will try to bring you down. There will always be people who are offended by your greatness, which is why trying to control those peoples' feelings is so pointless.
You can't control how anybody feels about you, so what can you do? How do you respond to hatred?
You can control your actions, and you can respond with greatness. When people try to bring you down, you need to keep on taking your life to the next level. When people shower hatred onto your progress, I want you to take that as a sign that you're going places.
People are going to talk behind your back. That doesn't mean you need to stop what you're doing. People are going to try to chain you to your past, but that doesn't mean you have to stop growing. Don't allow the people sitting on the sidelines of life to keep you from becoming the person you need to be.
The world is scared of change.
If you make an impact, there are those who will be offended. There are those who will voice their negativity and try to halt your progress. A lot of those people view life as a competition, and while life is a competition, it isn't a competition between you and everyone else.
Life is a competition between you and yourself. Because of that simple fact, the only feedback you need to worry about is from your soul.
I come back to this topic time and time again because I truly believe it's an important one. Every day, I see too many people get frustrated and stop what they're working on because they're trying to appease other people. Every day, I watch as people try and fail at controlling the sentiments of other people, and that's why today's message is so important—it's universal.
Your dreams are in your own hands, and there's no one on earth who can take them from you. Are you going to push forward, or are you going to let your life slip through your fingers? The choice is yours, and the sooner you make it, the sooner you can get to work. The sooner you know what kind of person you want to be, the sooner you can start becoming that person.
Stop stressing about the opinions of other people, and start stressing about your own future.
It all starts with you.
