I want to share something real with everyone out there.
Everything in your life starts with a decision. Every path your life takes begins with a choice. This message might step on some toes, but it comes from the heart. This world is a judgmental place to live, and social media has made that condition even worse. Far too often, we've all seen people choose to tear others down rather than build them up. Far too often, we see people kick others while they're down instead of helping them stand up. It breaks my heart every day, and to be honest, I think that human cruelty is absolutely crazy.
It's crazy that someone would ever judge another human before understanding them. It's completely insane that we'd sooner criticize someone than learn about their struggle. We'd rather sit back and judge, then condemn people based on what we see. We'd rather condemn people from the basis of bias than seek to truly understand them. I wish that kind of judgement was a rare occurrence, but unfortunately, it happens every day. Although this message might seem pessimistic, I'm not finished yet. I'm not sure who you are or what your path looks like, but whoever out there's reading this right now, this is a reminder to stand up for people. This is a sign to fight for people, because if you don't, there's no guarantee that anyone will. Instead of judging people based on what you see, you owe the world kindness and understanding. Next time someone near you falls down, you need to stand up and help them back to their feet. Next time you feel like criticizing someone's present, seek to understand their past. Seek to understand who they truly are, because let me tell you something—everyone in this world deserves to be understood. In life, we often forget that progression is relative. We often neglect how far people have come, and instead only see what we regard as shortcomings. The message here is simple—be a better person. Be someone's umbrella in the middle of their storm. When you see a rain cloud following everywhere someone goes, remind them that a rainbow will eventually arrive. Remind them that even though it feels like pain is inescapable, there is plenty of good in the world. The amazing thing about kindness is that we're all capable of it. There's no age or wealth requirement for helping other people, so what are you waiting for? We all have someone who needs us, so reach out to them and be the change they need from the world's tune. It all starts with you.
