Make the World Respect Your Greatness
All of my life, I have been fighting with the odds against me. Do ou ever feel that way? People used to tell me that it was a less than one percent chance that I would make it to the NFL, but I told them I would be that less than one percent. When I started doing public speaking, I felt called to step into something that I had never done before. I had people telling me that I wasn't professional enough. I had people saying that I wasn't articulate enough or that the world wouldn't view me that way. It didn't happen overnight. 've been doing this for 10 years now, and when I started, I only had the first two rows filled and it was only my family and friends. It starts with you. I know I always say it.
"Easier said than done." This phrase bothers me when I hear it, and I hear it every day. My response- "duh!" When you wanna look good, you take the time to clean yourself up and do your hair and you put in the work. When you're hungry- what do you do? YOU EAT. You got to make the meal, or go out and buy the meal to eat it. It's a simple analogy but its the same concept- you have to go out and get it. We need to be hungry for our dreams and do whatever it takes to satisfy that dream. Give yourself permission to be great.
Don't spend your whole life waiting. Waiting on people to support you, waiting for the big break, or for the world to recognize what you offer. I know people with 100k followers that impact only a few and people with 1k followers and they impact every one of them. Numbers don't matter, impact does. Don't allow your worth to be valued by the amount of followers you have on social media, or the external world- recognize that your worth is internal and no one can take that way. What's the point of gaining the world's approval if you have to lose yourself to do it?
Like seeds in a garden, God put greatness in all of us but you have to be in the right environment to grow. You need to find an environment that builds up and not one that breaks you down. Until you find the courage to change your environment you won't ever change your life. You can't do the same things and expect different outcomes. I used to love going out and when I stopped going out, I didn't stop liking going out. I just made the choice that the crowd I was around wasn't the crowd that was going to get me to where I wanted to go. Sometimes you have to learn how to love people from a distance. You don't need the support of the world, you need to have faith in yourself. If you believe in yourself then you are truly unstoppable. Go and make the world respect your greatness.
It all starts with you.
