So today I want to touch on something that I touched on in my podcast just last week in episode #95. I want to talk a little bit about the people that you cannot trust in your life. So when I talked about this on the podcast I went into a lot more detail than I am going to touch on today. If you want all of the details then check it out in Straight Up #95 anywhere you get your podcasts, but for now let me give you guys just a little taste, and I can promise you guys right here that this message today is going to be fire.
You know we are about to go into the new year with new year’s resolutions happening left and right. There are going to be a lot of decisions for you to make in your life, and not making one is just not an option. Not making a decision is still a decision. There is no more just allowing things to go wrong in your life. It is time to start paying attention to what you are allowing into your life. You should be treating your life more like you treat your house. You do not just leave the door open to your house and allow anybody to wander in and stay there. You become selective and careful because, especially if you have a family, there are valuable things to protect inside the house. Well I am just going to tell you this straight up: Your peace is valuable in your life and it is worth protecting. Do not just allow anyone to come and run wild in your life.
Here we go now. One of the people in your life that you cannot trust is someone who is always loyal to opportunities above the relationship they have with you. Lord, Lord, Lord. This person will act like a chameleon in your life. They will change on their standards, they will change on their morals, the second an opportunity comes into their lives that requires a different version of themselves. These people can’t be trusted in your life because they hold no consistency, and that only makes for a rocky relationship at best.
Another big problem is the person who is always planting seeds of doubt in your life. Now listen to me. I know this might sound obvious. I know this might sound like, duh, but I am serious about watching out for these kind of people. Some very cynical people can shrug off their comments if they have a good sense of humor, or a nice likeable personality. The problem is then you let your guard down and you stop realizing that they are constantly drowning your life and your thoughts with negativity. That is a problem.
There are three more kinds of people I talk about on the Straight Up Podcast #95 if you want to check it out wherever you get podcasts! Until then, start taking the questions seriously, and stop allowing people in your life that are going to threaten your peace. 2022 is the year to start respecting yourself, respecting your time, and protecting your peace.
It all starts with you.
