If you never get to a place in your life where you feel like giving up then you probably aren’t going hard enough. Let me tell you this, I’m just being real - you are climbing a mountain. There will be obstacles. Your muscles are going to burn and your bones are going to ache. Some of you start feeling that struggle and convince yourself that it means you are going the wrong way. It doesn’t. It means you are moving up.
I need you not to quit. I need you not to give up. There are going to be plenty of times this year where it is going to feel like it’s time to give up. I’m just being real with you. So many times, when you feel like you are about to break down, that’s when you have a break through. The biggest strengths you will ever have are the ones you earned by breaking through something. Some of you are going to have to break through rejection. Some of you are going to have to break through hate, or through loss. Some of you are going to have to break through addictions and pain.
I want you to understand this. Your life is not over. Your current situation is not your final destination. This will not last forever. Sometimes you have to go through something in order to grow through something. Sometimes you have to go through the deepest pain in your life in order to build the greatest confidence in your life. Sometimes you aren’t ready for the things you are praying for, and God has to take you through the process before you are ready to receive the gift. Don’t believe this moment, believe the mission.
There is a greater purpose than the pain that you are currently experiencing in your life. Working out is the perfect example for this. When you push yourself you are going to get to a place where you want to stop, your breath is shaking and your muscles are weak but guess what? That’s how you get stronger. You have to trust the process. You know that the seasons always change and even when it feels like winter you have to know that your summer is coming. Believe it.
Die to the things that are trying to cheat you out of your greatness. Die to the people that are trying to steal away your peace, die to the situations that are not bettering your life. Die to the pain that is holding you back. After the storm, there will be a harvest. After the sacrifice there will be a reward.
It all starts with you.
