So many of us are connected to the wrong things. We are connected to stress. We are connected to bad energy. We just stay connected to all of the things that keep us from joy and keep us from peace. My greatest piece of advice to combat that is nature. Get out in nature as much as you can. Nature is peaceful and it is a beautiful place to reset your mindset and reset your peace.
You have to spend time trying to reconnect to the things that bring you joy. Now, the problem is that we live in a world that looks down on self care a lot, but you can't pour from an empty glass. The world would have you believe that looking out for yourself is lazy or stuck up. We have this bizarre montra that we can "sleep when we are dead" as if resting, recharing, and taking care of our own mental wellbeing is the wrong thing to do because we should be constantly grinding. Let me tell you something. If you do not take the time to take care of yourself, you will not be of any help to anybody for anything, and I can promise you that. Self care is just common sense at this point, or at least it should be.
If we do not take the time to put in the work and take care of ourselves then we will continue to hold onto everything toxic in your life. Number one on that list is toxic stress. If you are grinding everyday, all night, and never taking the time to recharge and let go then you won't be able to take it. You will eventually drop, and probably sooner rather than later.
To be clear, recharging does not have to look the same for everyone. I mean, I mentioned nature because of how much that helps me, but maybe there is something better that helps you to recenter and feel more peace of mind. By all means, go for it. Maybe instead of a morning run, for you it's a walk, or even a few minutes of video games. Maybe instead of walking among the trees for you it is diving into a good book that you can get lost in. Whatever it is that helps you recenter and let go of everything toxic that has clouded your mind and clogged you up, go ahead and do it when you can. Make time for that.
Like I said before, people might think you are selfish. They might talk about you being lazy or stuck up, but haters are always going to say things like that no matter what you do so just do what you know is right and nothing more. Maybe if you are lucky, those haters will notice the positive changes in your life and the positive effect that it will have on everyone around you and they might catch on and try taking care of themselves too.
It all starts with you.
