Reprogram Yourself in Greatness
During my workout this morning, I thought to myself “I feel unstoppable.” When I am training, I feel like a different beast. Maybe for you, you feel most confident when you are cooking, or singing, maybe it’s public speaking. Whatever it is, when you are in that moment and doing that special thing, you feel alive.
I feel like we all have three versions of ourselves. First, we have our “everyday person,” this is the version of ourselves that gets us through the day. This version operates on an auto-pilot type of mentality with the occasional check-ins from the other two versions. The second is the “fearful person.” This version of ourselves is constantly obsessing over your limitations and potential threats. This version is also necessary because it helps to keep you safe and guide you out of danger, but it’s not who you want to be most of the time. Then there’s the third, “the unstoppable person.” This is the confident, warrior version. I’m beginning to realize that it’s certain activities and environments that bring this version to the light. We all have an alter-ego to some degree. I’m not trying to tell you to be something that you are not, I’m talking about this beast that comes out of you when you step into your talents or purpose. This unstoppable magnetic force of nature pulls you rapidly into the present moment in a confident and precise fashion. You know what I’m talking about, I know you’ve felt it.
We see it in the successful people around us. We all watch as they learn to tame it. They learn to switch it on and off. Think about athletes or entertainers and how they are just normal people until it's showtime. When it’s time to perform, they flip that switch and step into their “unstoppable person.”
I want you to sit down today and ask yourself this question:
“What is the confident version of you?”
Really think about that. Think about when in your life you feel the most confident and why it is that you feel drawn to that role, sport, activity, or whatever it is. Ask yourself, “are you living in your fearful self, your autopilot self or your confident self?” Which is it? Who is it that you want to be and how do you get there? You have to take a look at your life and listen to what your life is telling you. Listen to the things that bring you confidence and lean into them more.
It’s time for you to reprogram yourself in greatness. Your whole life, you’ve been programmed to be stuck. You’ve been programmed by your parents, society, your own heart and mind, your status, social media, and everything else. You’ve been programmed to feel like there’s no way up, but it’s time for you to break that glass ceiling. It’s time for you to be the one that makes the rules for your own life. Not your friends, or family, not your job or fears. You.
It all starts with you.
