Sacrifice Leads To Success
Before I get into the topic for today and before I say what I have on my heart, I want to make sure that you know that what I say here is not for me to criticize anybody out there. You know, I am not here to pass judgment on anybody else. This is just something I have on my heart. So you know a lot of people out there want to be successful, and I know that the word successful can mean a lot of different things to a lot of different people. You know your definition of success is your definition, but a lot of people do not want to make the sacrifices it takes to be successful. It is that simple. You know with the life I have now, I have gotten here because I have made a lot of sacrifices in my life and in my career to get here. I have said no to a lot of things that I would have liked to do because I knew that would not help to get me where I wanted to be to consider myself a successful person. When I decided I wanted to get somewhere in my career, it took me focusing on that and working towards that goal single-mindedly. I could not just do whatever I wanted whenever I wanted anymore.
When you can get to the level of commitment and discipline in your life where you are able to say no to the things that are not going to move you forward even if it is something you really want to do then you can do amazing things. It takes a lot of self control and discipline to make those kinds of sacrifices that it takes to be successful. Discipline is not saying no to the things that you do not like. Saying no to the things in your life that you do not want to do is easy. Discipline is saying no to the things that will not help you move forward even when you want to say yes to those things and you will feel a serious disappointment when you say no to those things. Discipline is letting go of a part of yourself that you do not want to let go of to be the person you have decided to become. So sacrifice definitely plays a huge part in making it happen and helping you to become who you want to become in your life.
I want to be clear that anything I say, I have done it. I do not talk about things that I have not personally done or struggled with. Anyway, I see a lot of people who make plans and goals all of the time who don’t do anything about it. I think it is a great thing to have plans, it is great to have goals but what is the point in having plans if you never go out and try to make it happen?
It all starts with you.
