Day 5: Reward Day
Welcome to the final day of the "Self Care" Challenge. It is the day that most of us neglect the most. "Reward Day."
So many of us do not practice self-compassion. We dismiss all the good things we have done. We overlook the progress we have made. We compare ourselves to other people who are around us, instead of being proud of improving ourselves.
We need to celebrate our wins. Build on our victories. We need to recognize how far we have come instead of getting frustrated with how far we need to go. We need to focus on our gains, not our gaps.
We will finish off this challenge by rewarding ourselves. I always try to give myself a gift for my hard-earned work on Friday. It's my way of self-appreciation and gratitude. I should never feel ashamed of my own wins and neither should you.
Look at the list below or find your way of rewarding yourself. You deserve it.
- Eat at your favorite restaurant with some friends and celebrate the beautiful people in your life.
- Get a massage or go to the pool for a relaxing day in the water.
- Buy yourself something small. Maybe it's an outfit you have wanted for a long time, but you wanted to earn it with some hard work and discipline before you bought it.
- Spend some alone time with yourself and just watch the game with a good steak, or have a bath with your favorite wine.
Make today about celebrating your wins for the week. Even if it's for just an hour. Life is never promised. We need to appreciate life and appreciate ourselves.
We are all facing the enemies of self-doubt, fear, and uncertainty. If we are doing our best to attack those demons, we need to celebrate our progress. Life shouldn't feel like a constant fight. Let's take a moment to celebrate our victories. We earned it.
I am soooo proud of you. You made it all the way through the challenge. This challenge was about reminding yourself about how incredible you are. You have so much greatness inside of you and you need to share it with the world. You are one of one. No one is like you.
Celebrate that fact by living your best life. But remember, no one can make that decision but you.
It always "Starts with You."
