I know that may sound harsh, but y'all know I'll never go easy when I think you need to hear the truth the most. There is a mentality that I call the "when I get syndrome." We've all experienced it, we find it when we have thoughts like:
- "When I get support, that's when I'm going to go hard for my dreams."
- "When I get an apology, that's when I'm going to start to give myself permission to heal."
- "When I get a certain circle around my life, that's when I'll get more confidence in myself."
- "When I get the right opportunity, that's when I'm going to start my dreams"
But what if "when I get" doesn't ever show up? So many people are in that boat, I was in that at one point of my life. There is a big difference between waiting and having patience. Waiting is staying stagnant, you're waiting for something to show up which isn't action. Patience is different, patience is when you're still progressing and doing the work which is action until the right opportunity comes along. Some of us will die waiting, don't die waiting!
If you don't stop telling yourself that you're waiting on a person, waiting on a promotion, waiting on a support system, or whatever else you think you need to move forward, you're never going to end up moving forward.
Today I want to encourage you to quit paralyzing your progression, and start living your best life! Listen now to the full episode:
