Today's message concerns something most of you don't know about yourselves.
You might not seem like a superhero, but the world needs you. The world needs you to be a better leader, a better mentor, a better teacher, and a better friend. The world needs you to be a better stranger to others, and to be someone who steps up to help others. Once you realize how badly the world needs the best version of you, you can build yourself up and become that person.
Respect yourself. In life, we teach people how to treat us. If you want people to stop walking all over you, you need to respect yourself and respect others. Whatever hatred is in your heart, get rid of it! Whatever darkness is in your past needs to go if it isn't something that's made you a better person. If you've had experiences that made you lose faith in the world, that's your sign to make the world a better place.
Right now, there are people dying unjustly. There is real pain happening to people every single day, and it's time to stop waiting on the sidelines. How much are you going to take before you make a change? The world isn't going to automatically become exactly the way you think it should be—it's your job to be the change first.
Love starts from within. If you can show respect to people, you can break stereotypes. Right now, America is going through a tough time. There are people dying in the street, and that's something that's been going on a lot these past couple years. Police brutality is a very real problem, and the world now more than ever needs love. We need to stop judging people before we understand their struggles. We need to stop judging books by their covers, and we need to give love instead of hate.
If everyone reading this can learn to love their neighbor, we can make the world a much better place.
Sometimes when I'm in an elevator, people move away from me. They judge me by my tattoos, or by my hair. In life, people treat others as if they are guilty until proven otherwise. It's time to shift that dynamic, and love people unconditionally. The world needs less criticism, and more understanding. We've got to understand our brothers and sisters, or we'll never be able to get anywhere.
Can you commit to making the world a better place? Be more understanding. Show more love, and less judgement. Even if you're already a great person, the world can always use more love.
It all starts with you.
