Stop Holding On To Poison
Today we are going to really tap into our hearts, man. There is a lot that I have on my heart today and a lot that I want to get across to you guys so buckle up. This is one of those blogs that is going to hopefully impact you for a long time if you are really listening and looking to take this message with you. I was watching the sunrise this morning and I was struck by the fact that there are so many people that never made it to today. So many people did not get to make it to the sunrise this morning and those of us that did take it all for granted. There are so many of us that just do not seem to grasp the concept of how precious our life is. We are not guaranteed next year, we are not guaranteed next week, and we are not even guaranteed the next minute of our lives but we still live our lives like we have all the time in the world. We spend so much of our limited time here on this earth holding on to the things that do not serve us. We hold onto the things that bring us pain and poison our spirit. We are so afraid to stop holding on, we are so afraid to demand respect, we are so afraid to take it to the next level, we are so afraid to move on in our lives so we choose to just stay stuck because that is the easier decision.
We are much more willing to hold onto the enemy that we know instead of taking our chances with the unknown. Maybe we are holding onto a toxic relationship because we are afraid of being alone. Maybe we are holding onto a job that is killing our spirit because we are afraid that we will not be able to find another job that would hire us. Maybe we are holding onto a friendship that is not serving us because we feel selfish to cut off a friendship even if it is poisoning us. How have we become so addicted to the thing that is poisoning us? You wonder why you still feel such emptiness inside you. That is because you did not step up to the plate and challenge yourself to do something worthwhile because it involved a little risk. A lot of us are afraid of letting go of friendships because we have heard people say what great hearts we have and how great it is that we have stayed in situations through thick and thin. I can understand why you would want to be thought of as having a good heart but understand this: Some of us are allowing our good hearts to keep us in situations that are breaking our hearts. We are so afraid to speak our truth, we are so afraid to stand up for ourselves, we are so afraid to go for it because we are so afraid of what other people are going to say. Stop letting all of these external forces control you. We have got to stop holding onto the thing that is poisoning us.
It all starts with you.
