Today I have a very important message to get across to you guys, and I do not want to be insensitive to anybody, but when I say do not waste your life - and I know most of you know this, you just probably do not think about it nearly enough - I want you to remember that tomorrow just simply is not guaranteed. Too many of us are constantly putting things off until tomorrow, or putting things off until next week, or even putting things off until next year or the next few years because we keep telling ourselves that we have time, but sometimes we just don’t. We are not guaranteed anything. That is why it is so important to seize the time you have in front of you and get started on whatever it is that you need to do right now because whatever you are trying to do or whoever you are trying to be will not always be an option.
I know for a lot of us, we settle for less than we deserve in our lives because we are afraid of being without whatever we are settling for. Here is the thing though: There will not always be time to fix what you settled for. Maybe you picked a job as a backup because you think there will always be time eventually to pursue what you actually want to do. I do not want to be dark or too negative but I am just going to be straight up with you guys like I always am. There will just not always be a time to pursue whatever it is that you are putting off.
It is about to be the new year again so you know everyone is going to be talking all about change and how they want to be a better version of themselves. The problem is that a lot of us are not really committing to making a change when we make our new year’s resolutions. We like the idea of being better, of reading more, of working out more, of not settling for less, but we are not willing to put in the hard work, to take the time, to lose the toxic friendships in our lives that it would take to actually be better. So when things get rough or we have to make some kind of make or break decision then we end up pushing things off because we tell ourselves that repeated lie over and over again that we will always have time to come back to this goal somewhere down the line. This is not our last chance, but I am just going to tell you right now: You just do not know if it is your last chance or not.
If you want to see real change and real transformation in your life then you have got to start treating your goals as if this is your last chance, and stop wasting the time you have to pursue what you deserve.
It all starts with you.
