You will never win your war by running from your battle. The hardest fight you will ever have in this life is the fight inside your mind. I know I say it often, but it is the truth. I’m just being real with you. You have to step up to the plate and bat, no one else is going to do it for you. I don’t want to discount your pain. I don’t know what it is that you are going through but I do know that you have what it takes to make it through it. I know that you will be better off on the other side. I promise You. I know it sucks but the only way to the other side is straight through. You can turn your pain into your strength. I like to break it down into three parts and to think of the journey like this:
- Reality- don’t hide from your reality. Face the truth of your life. The more you run from it, the harder it is to face. Look at it and talk yourself through it.
- Release- There are things that you can’t take with you on your journey forward. Maybe that is the friends that you keep around you or the job that you are in. Maybe it’s the perception you have of yourself that you need to let go. You know what it is that is holding you back in your life and you are the only one that can chip away at the bridges that need to be burned.
- Repair- once you have faced your reality and burned the bridges that you needed to burn, you are left with a fresh start. At this point you have to start your repair. Ask yourself - what do you need in your life now? Routine? Positive influence friends? Self care? Make that list and tackle it one by one.
Throughout this whole process, remember that you are enough. I get so many people reaching out to me and asking “how do I find my purpose?” I don’t believe that your purpose is hiding out in the world like something you have to go out and find. I believe you are your own purpose. The question is- how do we apply this purpose to our lives? I think most of the time we find that answer in our pasts. Something that we went through that we are able to help others through because we became an expert in it. I lost my identity and now my dream is to help people find theirs. I wouldn’t be here if it weren’t for my past. What makes you feel most alive? Your purpose is how you can use your life to create a better world. Use the lessons in your life to guide you into your purpose. Use your pain and turn it into your strength. You got this.
It all starts with you.
