Why They Don't Support You
The people closest to us, like our friends and family, are often the people we expect the most out of in terms of love and support.
One of the worst feelings is when the people we need the most from don't support us.
Your parents might not support you because they don't agree with your life choices. Your friends might not support you out of jealousy, or because they think they know what's good for you better than you do.
If you're succeeding, there are people who will be afraid of your greatness. There are people who will be uncomfortable with how talented or gifted you've become.
Don't get discouraged when people don't support you. If the people closest to you don't push you forward or share similar goals, maybe you need new people!
The closer people are to you, the harder it is for them to see the light inside you.
You will have strangers who support you more than your inner circle does. You might be accomplishing your dreams, but you're still just someone's son, or daughter, or someone they went to high school with. You could be the biggest rock star on earth, and you'd still just be someone's friend.
It's hard to break people's perceptions of you. That's why support doesn't always come from familiar places. God works in strange ways, so remember that success isn't based on approval from others.
If your friends and family are extremely loving and supportive of you and your decisions, that's great! If not, that's okay. Don't focus on winning people over—focus on yourself and your goals.
You don't need validation from anyone but yourself.
All you need to do is focus on your vision, focus on your purpose, and focus on your talents. I promise you that if you do that the rest will follow. If you pursue your dreams, the right people will show up to support you. They will come into your life and see you for everything you've become.
Don't sit on the couch trying to convince people you're great. Don't focus on external validation. There's a world of people out there who need your business, or your wisdom, or your truth. Only God knows the fullness of the path He's set for you. Don't waste your time getting upset at people who can't see the greatness of that path!
The more you find yourself, the more you'll radiate self-confidence. Not everyone agreed with me when I started, but as my vision became more and more realized, I've received love from increasingly unexpected places.
Stay committed! When you're serious about making a change and you stop living inside your limits, you're going to inevitably step outside your comfort zone. When you do something big, you're inevitably going to come across people, even familiar people, who don't understand what you're doing.
Focus on your vision, and the rest will follow.
It all starts with you!
