You Don't have a Consistency Problem; You Have a Commitment Problem
Today's message is about being real with yourself. Everyone needs to take more responsibility over their lives, and that's a tough message for a lot of people to hear. Although I might step on some toes, I promise you that my tough love comes from a good place.
Outside your comfort zone is where change takes place. When you truly know yourself, you become empowered. You become completely invincible. Stop playing with your life!
Let me ask you a question: Do you see your own hero when you look in the mirror?
Social media's influencer over society makes a lot of people complacent. It's normal to sit on the sidelines and watch others live your dreams. Today I want to challenge you to stop being a spectator.
Yes, that's easier said than done. But that's not a relevant excuse, because you've got to do it! You only have one life to lead, and that's what's at stake here. There are 7 billion people in the world, and only one of you. If you can't find your own value and find the gifts you have to give the world, both you and the rest of the world will be worse off. God gave you one life, and He designed you to be like no one else. One thing I can promise you is that you have something truly special to give the world.
Transformation is difficult. We are used to living in our limitations, letting ourselves be controlled by what we assume are our boundaries. It's time to break those boundaries! When I first went skydiving, I remember all these thoughts going through my head. I was thinking, "This is the worst birthday gift ever," and, "I am going to die—the parachutes aren't going to open." But I did it anyway. I realized that I was making up negativity from nothing when I'd never experienced skydiving in my life before. So I went skydiving, and I freed myself of those fears.
If you want to walk through the door of fear, you have to change what awaits on the other side, because if it's too negative, you're never going to walk through that door. If a fighter says, "I'm gonna lose this fight," why should he ever step into the ring?
Nobody's perfect. You can't achieve perfection in this lifetime. That's okay! Forget perfection. Instagram wants you to structure your life around perfection all the time, but that just isn't the way life works. Choose progression over perfection, because nobody's perfect.
If you want to succeed, there are a few things you have to do. First of all, you need to change what's on the other side of that door to something you aren't scared of. You need to walk through that door with confidence. The second thing you need to do is, stop putting limitations on your life! Stop letting people tell you who you are, and stop giving into the lies social media shoves down your throat.
If success and self-satisfaction were easy, everyone would do it. For that reason, I can't lie to you—the road ahead isn't easy. However, you owe it to yourself to start walking.
It all starts with you.
