You're Not Alone
What do you need to let go of? What do you need to free yourself from in order for your life to feel back on track? I want to share some thoughts on peace with you guys today. Whatever day you are reading this on I want you to know something important: Today is a new day with new beginnings for your life. What happened before you woke up this morning is the past. Do not be stressed or worried about the things that you did in the past if they have no effect on you today. Do not be worried about tomorrow either because tomorrow can worry about itself as God tells us.
I was talking to someone earlier today about choices. I was talking about how everyday we have a choice. We can choose stress. We can choose peace. We can choose pain. We can choose calm. We can choose whatever. We always have the free will to make that choice. I know you might be thinking, "Trent, I can't choose peace because of the things I have been through and you would know nothing about those things." I say it's true, I don't know your specific history or your specific pain and I know that some days it will be a lot harder than others to choose peace or to choose calm but I promise you that it is still a choice. Sometimes you will need to grieve and you will choose the pain because it is just too hard to let go of that yet, but eventually you are going to have to choose peace if you don't want to be stuck in that pain forever. Eventually you are going to want to move on and start embracing the peace in your life.
The most important part of all of this is the reminder that you are not alone in this pain. You are not alone in this world. That is why it is so important to talk about your struggles. Talking about what you are going through is healthy. Talking about your pain is healthy because then you can find the other people who have gone through similar trials in their life. You are the only one who knows exactly what your pain feels like, but there will always be people out there who have gone through similar pain in their life. Finding and talking with those people is so incredibly important in your life. The stories they will be able to tell you about how they overcame their pain will be so helpful in many different ways in helping you overcome your own pain but most importantly they will emphasize the truth that you are truly not alone.
So find your peace, and protect it. Find your new beginning, and let go of the pain. Choose calm, and share the pain you overcame in your life.
It all starts with you.
